*Previously reported cases are removed from the total positive tests. Out-of-county positive tests are included in these numbers.

Total tests reflects every test performed and accepted by the aforementioned labs. This would include previously reported patients and patients that have had multiple tests in a given month.

Example: John Smith has three positive tests performed by KCDPH Laboratory in September (9/1/2010, 9/12/2010, and 9/30/2010) and one positive test in October (10/15/2010). Because this is John Smith's first positive test recognized by the system, he is counted once in the numerator for September, three times in the KCDPH Laboratory denominator for September. John Smith is also counted in the KCDPH Laboratory Denominator for October. If John Smith had also been tested by PAL in September (9/15/2010), he would not be counted in PAL's numerator but would be counted in PAL's denominator.
